Imam Hassanat Ahmed
Principle
After completing his Qur’an studies Imam Hassanat pursued further studies in the Islamic Sciences under various teachers in England as well as abroad. During this time he continued his secular education up to Degree level gaining a BSc Hons from The University of Salford. After this he spent some time in Damascus studying Arabic and Tajweed. He has worked as an educator and Imam in various mosques across England. He is passionate about issues facing British Muslims , especially the young. He has devoted his life to instilling the love of the faith in young hearts and promoting an inclusive and loving relationship with all of God’s creation. His students are serving as Imams and teachers in their respective communities.
Imam Hassanat’s other areas of interest are inter and intra-faith dialogue and is the founding member of Muslim Christian Forum of Bury , Salam Shalom and Rochdale Imams and Clergy Group.
He is currently working as an Imam and is the founder of Northstar Academy.
Ustadha Umm Anwaar
Vice Principle
Umm Anwaar is a qualified social worker as well as a teacher of Islamic Studies. Ustadha is passionate about teaching the Qur’an and providing pastoral care to female members of the community. She has served the Muslim community in various cities around the UK for the past 15 years.
Umm Sajayah ( Vol.)
Curriculum Development
Umm Sajayah is a qualified primary school teacher. As well as her work in primary school she is an active member of our team. Umm Sajayah is our lead in curriculum development.
Dr m Khan ( Vol.)
Safeguarding / Safety
Dr Khan qualified with a Phd from the University of Leeds. He is now a teacher and safeguarding lead at a secondary school. Dr Khan is pivotal in providing advice and regular training to our staff and volunteers to make sure we are proactive in providing a safe environment for our users. Dr Khan is our safety and safeguarding lead.
